The joys of Duck Tape

Having read our US cousins thoughts on the joys of Duck Tape over at a frugal living site, I thought I'd buy some. It is indeed very useful. I've already used it to mend the broken rail in my wardrobe, and to clamp together the sole of my shoe when I was glueing it in a repair job.
My parents have had a leak in their shed roof and I'm going to duck tape it for them before splashing out on a full re-tarring.
Do any other readers have any duck tape success stories, or know a cheap source for it? (it's about £4.80 for 25metres in Woolies)

Try your local poundland or 99p store, they usually stock it. My son in law used it to repair the torn vinyl seat in his taxi, stillgoing strong 6 months later.0

Pavlovs Dog - thank you sooo much for telling us about the duct tape wallets. Those are so cool. Really must get one.
My mate and I always say that there is nothing in this world that cannot be fixed with either gaffa tape or WD40!Adopt a retired racing greyhound. Go on... you know you wanna....0 -

My dishwasher is 'plumbed in' with Duck Tape, as is my bathroom sink!
We could NOT find the correct attachment for the dishwasher and so far the Ducktape has lasted for 18 months!
Oh, what I would give for a DIY inclined other half :rolleyes:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
I saw Joan collins on tv once talking about how you can use it to tape your body into the right shape for fancy dresses, i.e. create a cleavage or a more defined waist. Yes all these millionaire models and actresses are just covered in duck tape under those £10,000 dresses.

Been there and done that! Not to myself, but as a theatre technician (performing arts not surgical!), I had to tape a very large chested member of the drama group into a small babydoll style dress to give her enough boost to look tarty but stay in her dress as it was a school production. LOL. I'll never forget the day after the last night when she came in and informed everyone that she had pulled more blokes in town the night before since she had gone out in her costume than she had in 18 months of clubbing! Then she quite loudly thanked me for boosting her infront of the entire sixth-form. Talk about embarrasing!
Anyway, at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts) us technicians had a wonderful saying
"The force is like gaffa, it has a light side, a dark side and binds the world together".Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
