Queen Delia, I think. You can just search by ingredients and relevant recipes pop up - here

I would also recommend trying to get the How to Cook series of books (3 of them). She goes through all the basics and then gives some fantastic recipes - everything from traditional to modern. You may get used copies cheap on Amazon.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

you put in up to 4 key ingredients and it gives you a list of recipes
american measurements but you will get used to it.
In the meantime if you have a slow cooker, or just a big casserole dish, just about anything works with a tin of tomatoes, a stock cube, a chopped onion and some garlic! You can always vary it by adding chilli powder, curry powder, ginger or wine!
MMM I wish I had all that meat in my freezer!!! Can I come for tea;)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Here's a cheap receipe I tried at the weekend & have been dying to share ever since! It's kind of like a spicy lasagne. I used tesco value tortilla chips, value sweetcorn & value tomatos, frozen peppers & dried chilli flakes & powder. I made it with (reduced price!) mince but you could easily use the diced steak or any type of mince:
Mexican Casserole :
Chop & fry 2 large onions. Add diced peppers if desired.
Add meat & brown
Add half a tin of finely chopped tomatoes & all the juice, garlic & finely chopped fresh/dried chilli to taste
Allow to simmer until most of the juice has evaporated.
Meanwhile "cream" a tin of sweetcorn in a blender with a very little water to form think sauce consistancy & grate cheese for topping.
Pour half the meat mix into a casserole dish & top with all the creamed sweetcorn. Layer half a pack of tortilla chips over the sweetcorn then top with remaining meat mix & layer remaining tortilla chips. Top with grated cheese & bake in medium oven for around 25 mins until hot through & the cheese bubbles. Serve with rice or garlic bread.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

OK Straight off the top of my head:
Cubed beef
any type of beef casserole - vary by adding red wine, tomatoes or beer (not lager) plus whatever veg you can lay your hands on.
Chilli con carne
cottage pie - for the chilli & cottage pie you could whizz the meat up in a food processor to make smaller chunks.
Minced lamb - don't eat lamb so not much help but:
lamb burgers
lamb kebabs - add mint & roll into sausage shapes on kebab sticks
shepheds pie
Chicken breasts
Mexican fajitas/enchiladas
Chicken curry
Thai green curry - you need a tub of green curry paste (keeps for ages in the fridge) & tin of coconut milk
breadcrumbed - bash thin between 2 pieces of cling film. coat in flour, then beaten egg & finally breadcrumbs. Shallow fry or bake
Cordon bleu - bash thin (as above) lay thumb sized piece of cheese & slice of ham on top & roll up. breadcrumb as above & bake in oven.
Stuffed - cut slit in chicken & stuff with...anything - cheese, onion, garlic, sundried tomato, stuffing & then bake in oven
Chicken tikka - bash some garlic & ginger in a pestle & mortar to a paste. Add dried chilli flakes/powder, turmeric, cumin, garam marsala (basically any cuury type spices you have in cupboard) & some mint. Mix with small tub of natural yoghurt & marinade chicken breasts (whole or cut into chunks) for a couple of hours. Grilling is best.0 -
Instead of using tortilla chips in Lillibets mexican casserole you could also use the tortilla, ie the things you make wraps out of.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

sounds good to me!!! I would maybe add kidney beans to stretch the meat a bit further still (but then I'm a piglet). I've never blitzed sweetcorn to a sauce before (Im not a big fan of it to be honest) but might give it a go if I see a dented tin on the trolley and remember this recipeBlah0 -

Me neither. I presume some defrosted sweetcorn out of the freezer would do the same job? I never buy it in tins, just use what I need out of the freezer.
Sounds lovely BTW Lillibet, definately one to try soon...........0 -
I'm sure frozen/fresh sweetcorn would work just the same, you just need to add water a tablespoonful at a time to get it to the right consistancy. If you don't like sweetcorn maybe you could make a pepper sauce using frozen & defrosted peppers or use a tin of re-fried beans?Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
