    why don't they quote the figures for actually invested amount in the new scheme i.e. payment plus tax relief plus governemnt bit plus compnay bit =
    and compare that with an alternative

    if one can do better outside the new scheme then do that if not then the new scehme is better

    the fact that is 30 years the new scheme will be even better (no 2% surcharge) seems absolutely irrelevant.
