    AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
just bought a blimmin [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Acer Aspire 5102WLMi for £574, (+ £18 quid cash back quidco / rpoints of course) literally about 4 hours ago!

this is a bit of a bargain, not dual core, but the 2 gig centrino's combined with the X300 graphics will play modern games like doom3 really well!

grabbit while you can :-) (i would have)

(First Post!...ever) How does this compare with the Tesco/Comet £299 deal on the Acer Travelmate 2414WLMI:

    Intel Celeron M 1.6 GHz 256 MB 40.0 GB
    TFT 15.4 in
    Optical Drive DVD-RW/CD-RW
    Sound Card Integrated
    Graphics Card Integrated 128MB
    Wireless LAN, Modem, Network Card
    VGA (D-sub) 1
    USB Ports 4
    PC Card Slot
    Mouse Type Touchpad
Mcrosoft Windows XP Home, Plays & records DVD & CD
    Battery Type Lithium Ion
    Battery Time 2.0 hours
    Weight 2.75 kilos

I know there is a big gap between the two, but its unclear whether its worth the £225 saving & then adding a few extras (any sugestions) or opting for the Acer Aspire 1654WLMi as suggested at the top

the hard drive is twice as big, the memory is 4 times as big it has a dedicated graphics card and a lot fast processor so IMO it is worth the extra money

completely different kettle of fish mate. The tesco one is just for the average user, a little browsing, and general use. Whereas this other one is a power machine for gaming, heavy video work etc. Depnds on what you need as to which machine you buy!
