you can do a course at a local college which is usually a few evenings of 2-3 hours and is 3 or 4 times then you take a really easy test.

Or you can do a one day course. Mine took around 5 hours including lunch because there were only a few of us on the course.
    Nice to save.
  • Great thanks, i will have a look at my local college. Do you know the cost involved to obtain one?

It costs about £100 to get the qualification and then you will have to apply to your local council to get your actual licence -I'm not sure how much that costs.
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

  • got mine last year, at brighton college, 1 day course cost £153 and then to get a licence from the local council you must pass a CRB check about £20 and then about another £20 for the actual licence.
Its called the BIIAB Level 2 national certificate for personal licence holders.
So glad I did it pay on my part time job went up by £1 per hour and got an extra shift a week, and have the opportunity to use it running bars in future and for gigs on and off which pays good money!

£5000 debt cleared thanks to MSE advice :money:
  • Thanks all for the advise and input. For delivering alcohol only, would you still need a premisis licence? Is that compulsary?
  • preciousb, have a look at your local authority website as I believe rules and regs can be slightly different for different areas. They will probably have a breakdown of what's involved with personal licences, and when you would/wouldn't need a premises licence. If they don't, give someone in the licensing department a call, I've always found our one to be really helpful.
Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.
