I think I am mad. Decided to make sweetie hampers

OK I think i have gone loopy. I have decided to make Christmas hampers full of home made sweets. Yes a little over a month to go is probably not the best time to even begin planning is it.
Plan is 2-3 diffrent versions of fudge, rum truffles, tablet and snowman soup. Does anyone have any other ideas of what to add, pointers for making the labels or just really any words of wisdom??

Words of support from me....
you're not mad, you're just getting the 'Christmas Crafty Bug'. It's a little known germ which infiltrates the body and affects the thought process of people on this section of MSE.
Be warned - there is no cure for it. Although at times of the year you think you have recovered, it will suddenly strike you down again until your head is bursting with thoughts and ideas that you have to run out to your local HobbyCraft* (*other craft stores are availiable)
and buy in supplies to help ease the pressure.

So anyway.....about these sweets....:rotfl: Your list sounds good, what about home made peppermint creams maybe?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. ooo never tried to make peppermint creams. I will go hunting for a recipe soon. I have square wicker basket things already so was thinking of getting cello bags and bagging up each type of sweet, labelling it then lying it in the basket pon some tissue paper then wrapping in Cello. Ribbon and bow and job done.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

half the white on a small egg, mixed from dried egg white(mix as directed on the packet)
1 tspn peppermint flavouring

green food dye(optional)
sift icing. make a hole. mix egg white, peppermint flavour and lemon in a bowl then add to sugar. mix with a blunt knife then squeeze with your hands until a smooth dough. add a few drops of green dye to half if you want. if it is still sticky add a little more icing. roll out and cut lots of shapes using cutters. leave for an hour until hard.

You are not mad!! Think its a great idea; if I had the skill in the kitchen think I would be doing the same!!
Chocolate lollies are always a good idea and you can pick up xmas themed ice cube trays in the pound shop then all you would need would be your lolly sticks.
Nigella Lawson also has a recipe for Christmas Bon Bons which when are finished look like little christmas puddings - they are soooo cute. I have the recipe for that so just let me know if you want it.
