LSA pay

I started a job as a learning support assistant 6 months ago. I'm wondering whether pay is increased each year in the job?

A few others were talking about this at work, but I didn't follow what they were talking about. They said pay is on a scale and you start on the bottom and it goes up.

Does this go up every year, or is your pay reviewed now and again or do you just stay on the same pay until they decide otherwise?

Sorry, I know I should be asking the school I work for, but for now, any information is appreciated. :)

  • From what you've heard, it sounds as if LSAs are on an incremental scale where you go up a point each year.

Wouldn't it have been a good idea to have asked people you work with when they were having this discussion?

    Indeed, it would have been.

Sorry, it's easy to be wise after the event, I know.

I suspect you work in a local college. If this is the case then yes your pay will go up yearly until you reach the highest increment point. Any rise after that is purely inflationary.
