Possible to Transfer old pension to Stakeholder?

Hello.

I have an old pension scheme, which I forgot about until I was sorting out some old paperwork this morning. The pension has been frozen, and I have since left the company.

My question is is it posible to transfer the value to my Halifax Stakeholder Pension?

What type of pension is it? If final salary, it is usually unwise to transfer out as the pension is not frozen, but deferred and is increasing to match inflation year by year.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

No it's definitely not not a final salary pension, just a standard company pension I think. I only paid into it for a couple of years, so the value is only around £3,000.

The question ought to be why would you want to? :)

Is the existing scheme better of worse than Halifax?

I was just thinking of keeping things together rather then two separate schemes, esp as it's only 3 grand.

The urge to tidy up old pensions does not necessarily lead to an improvement in the contents of the wallet.Check investment options and charges on both pensions to find out if it's worth moving it.
