but David aren't you going to tell them off for being abusive to other posters? ;)

I don't see anything abusive in the OP, do you? I agree with nollag to some extent, and so did others on the House Buying channel when I looked. They felt Brit's response wasn't sufficiently balanced or tentative.
making fun of other posters isn't funny, it's not nice ;)
Depends on context, severity etc. I couldn't agree more in the matter of what nollag said about Brit's literacy skills on the other channel. Belittling people in off-topic ways, and in public, is a sign of weakness, in my opinion.

Just read that link myself, brit1234 is spot on.

You bulls know that there is only 6 months left until this fantasy land property market can be propped by the current government via QE.

All newbie peeps wanting to buy property just hold out until after the next election. Watch the !!!! hit the fan when New Labour dump their 14 years of mismanaging the economy onto the Tories.

Although my views are bearish, still own a house which will paid off in three years - so what exactly have I lost?

If i'd listened to the usual bull advise on here, but back then... would of bought the place sooner, but payed an extra 6 years worth of payments and 30% more.

The bulls in this forum have massive negative equity and are hoping the market picks up to bail them out of the !!!! that they should have never put themselves into in the first place.

And knowing this the recident bulls are incouraging newbie house buyers to fall into the same trap.

Thank god we have sensible bears in the market and a market that even with the rises being trumpetted by all vested interests including the current government is nothing more than Simon Cowell voting on Jedward staying in Pop Idol.

It doesn't really matter. The OP was after some specific advice on how to buy a house, not some OT rubbish about what the future value of that house is likely to be.

Admittedly, I called the top as end of 2006 and I was wrong - not that my error makes the current situation any better

I called it in 2002 .............and posters on here still call me a Bull

Someone is discussing the biggest buying decision of their life (under a concocted scheme) whilst the great and the good are having emergy meetings about the parlous state of the economy and you are saying the subject of 'future value' is out of bounds?

The day we actively try to silence the other "position" is a sad day in my book.

Anyone on this forum is free to post what they wish within the rules.

I have seen far out "Don't buy for the next 5 years" and "Buy now, quick, you'll miss the boat". Both are as extreme as one another.

Bringing something posted elsewhere to this part of the forum to start an argument isn't really needed!

    Which ones?

    I won't expect a response.
