It may seem a bit geeky, but I find that a mobile phone belt pouch is a great way to keep the mobile easily accessible, and once you get into the habit of using it, you never lose your phone.

Hope you paid for the cabbie's diesel or asked him which charity he would like you to send a large donation to.

You need a manbag Martin. You'd be less likely to lose that. Oh and btw it is not necessary to have a mobile phone glued to one's hand at all times - although come to think of it that might have prevented the loss!

Talking of not being a loser to a cabbie, in Stockport we have some cabbies with yellow smiley 'acid' faces on their cab windows - means they don't charge you extra for going out of area - can save you a third on a cab fare if you ever come up North Martin.... maybe half the cabbies that go from the train station do this.

Don't worry we sent a bike to get it and I sent him some champagne to say thank you.

I've registered my phone one of those cheap tracking services, so I can find mine if I lose it again. Also, I keep my phone in my jacket pocket, which is deep and has a zip fastener on it.

Martin, get yourself on Twitter, for two reasons: One, we'll all love to hear from you more throughout your day, and Two, you'll start paying much more attention to where your phone is in order to make your next tweet, and be less likely to leave it behind.

Erm? I presume the cabbie didn't drop you home after your night out Martin, otherwise he'd know where you live & return it to you there, surely?

Having lost my do-everything phone from my pocket on holiday, I've put a memory stick neck cord on the next one so when it is in my pocket the cord can be doubled through a belt loop and the phone's tied on. The cord has a quick release clip in the middle too for when you don't need it on the phone.

I agree. I feel physically ill if I even mislay my Blackberry...I think I'd die if I actually lost it even if only for a few hours.

What did we ever do before mobile phones were ever thought of?

Same as I do now, manage perfectly well without one. Don't need one for emergencies as I discovered I could rely on the kindness of strangers Don't need one for work Don't like being electronically tagged

But Money Savers (and their partners, spouses, relations, friends, etc.) are nice people.

Poor and content is rich enough.
