Default Ringback tones

These are called ringback tones and have become a pretty good business for mobile network operators / service providers

Just as much fun as a ringtone!

I trust you will have read the T&Cs as I was offered this service on my recent phone upgrade and I would have to start paying next month for the privilege of letting my callers hear my choice of song.

On Orange it appears to be a monthly add on. Needless to say I choose to let my friends and family listen to ring ring...

Couldn't agree more with 'vixmix' below.

This is a money minting service for the operators (O2,orange etc.)

They charge us a fix amount 'every' month for this service.

So if you don't want to pay, cancel it and ''''get written confirmation'''' (from the operator) that the service has been cancelled and there would be no charge levied on to your bill.

It's new in the U.K but rampant in India for years.

Good Luck to all!!

I just choked I was lauging so hard; that is so funny! I can't imagine what people were thinking when they phoned you. And of course, the ones who would find it odd or distasteful, rather than funy, would be the ones not to tell you

To know how rich you are, count the things you have which money can't buy

Martin; the Knight Rider theme is THE high point of the 80's. Everyone needs a little bit of The Hoff in their life!

I find these things grossly offensive and deeply and movingly irritating. We should be able to opt out of receiving such nonsense such that our own phone only ever goes ring-ring when making a call.
