Don't want to be a kill joy but I've heard this installs a spyware type tool called PSIService.exe (just google it). It's only supposed to check your using a valid license - but I'm confused as the software is a a freebie anyway? It embeds into your system even if you un-install PSP and for that reason I'm suspicious.

I have to say Paint.net does everything I need it to and is a fantastic open source project.

This is only with later versions XI and X2

I can assure you it comes bundled as the following files were installed which are associated with Protexis Licensing software
%windir%\System32\PSIService.exe
%windir%\System32\PSIKey.exe
If you've installed and having problems removing it, check out Protexis website (the guys who are spying!) as you have to edit the registry and delete the above files (though this will more than likely prevent Paint Shop Pro from working so un-install first if you don't want it.).

ah yes so it does, if it bothers anyone you can get PSP X to work without it.

I followed some instructions to remove PSIService.exe and get Paint Shop Pro X to start without it - worked OK for me on XP

Easy way to stop the nag screen appearing when you close the application.

Procedure to remove nag screen:
1. After installing, open the following file in Notepad:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro X\PCUUI\Container.htm
2. Erase all the text, replace it with the following code:
<script type="text/javascript">
location="pcucmd://Cancel?confirm=no";
</script>
3. Save the file.

I cannot find how to download this product. The link seems Ok but when I click the download button on that page it takes me to the Corel Free Trial page but no obvious way to download PSP X
