Saving Lipstick

I don't know how useful this might be to anyone else but my favourite lipstick was running out. It had a sloping plastic tube which had been cut on an angle (if you know what I mean) and, although there was plenty of lipstick left in it, it was cutting my lip when I applied it.
I withdrew the lipstick as far as I could and sawed off the end of the applicator so that it was straight and, in the process, acquired another half an inch of my favourite lipstick! :-*

Good one ;D
If there's still some left after that, use a lipbrush to get to the very bottomBulletproof0 -
Another make up tip is if you use foundation that comes from a tube (not a bottle) when its running out cut the top off in a straight line and you get about 10 more applications out of it. Then use the bit that you have cut off for a lid just slide over the end. ;D0

I've been doing just that for the past 20odd years since wearing makeup in early teens - isn't it what most people do - ie use a lip brush to get to the bottom of the lipstick - the lipstick lasts longer than when i used to apply it directly when new. and cutting off the tops or bottoms of creams like cleansers. body lotions, facial scrubs and toothpaste, and using the cut off bit like a lid. there is always so much left. it doesn;t take much time or effort rather we save ourselves from spending again within a short time. the products company don't give you anyfree quantity or reimburse you - so why should we waste our money and throw anyamount away! even shampoos and shower gels or body scrubs - just dilute it a bit and hang/stand upside down - you get few more applications.......
i thought this was all normal practice... i guess not....0 -
Hi Rosefairy,
Think probably its not normal practice, I don't actually know a single person that does all those things, apart from my parents who are in their 80s.
I honestly don't think it occurs to people to use every last drop of something
to get the full value.
