Just about to give potty training my daughter a go.
Just wondered what is the best way to deal with mopping up those accidental little puddles (and worse!).
Can anyone offer any advice?

A lot of Mums leave it until summertime when The kids can run about outside, but if you wait until then thats months of nappies to pay for
I would suggest those washable pull up pants, they have a sort of lining in them and I think you can get them from boots or mothercare, they also catch anything that isn't wee :-[0 -
Plan is to just let her wander around with no nappy on at all and get her to sit on the potty every so often. She's just gone 2 hours which has ended in a puddle behind the settee!
Just looking for suggestions of money saving way to mop up piddle as the carpet cleaners are pretty expensive. Have blotted it up with kitchen roll - was considering putting down some bicarb of soda, but not sure what it will do.
Will stick to the regular carpet cleaners for now, but hoping somebody will know an alternative cheaper way.0 -
I was going to suggest bicarb but on one of the other threads it was suggested that vinegar in solution was good for odour removal.
White vinegar NOT brown."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.0 -
Thanks elona, do you know the proportion of vinegar to water? Thought I'd make a solution in a water spray bottle to keep handy.0

Good luck, Purplepatch. Have also started potty training my little boy and am dealing with the consequences! Will be reading this thread with interest.0 -
Same to you Jo
.
Mine is 21 months and I'm not entirely sure she's quite ready for it yet, but thought we'd give it a go for a few days and see how we get on. Getting so sick of the fuss she makes about having her nappy changed, not to mention the cost of them!0 -
My SIL used to squirt potty puddles with the soda syphon.0

I've heard you can use a soda syphon on accidents from dogs, so I assume it would work the same way for baby wee!!0

My sister lets hers run around with no nappy but does put pants etc on them
she thinks they are less inclined to wet if they are wearing clothes especially if you tell them how special and grown up they are to have big girls/boys pants,
it's also easier to just strip off and throw in washer
and reduces mess on carpets0 -
Bumping this one up as I need specific advice.
My boy's now going nappyless at night. His bed is all kitted out with all the waterproof covers, extra sheets etc. Last night he ended up in my bed with me and left a nice puddle on my mattress!
Any tips on the best way to clean the mattress now?!0
