God rest your soul Deedee. Thanks for your posts to me and many others like me.

Dalip - I am sorry that you were right being worried in a way. Parting with friends is always hard, especially on those that are left behind. As others have said, she in now in a better place. Pain and inability have been left behind. Take care of yourself too though. As posted, she wanted her life celebrated - we shouldn't be too sad. I will raise a glass to that too.

Sarah thank you so much for letting us know and Dalip thank you too for starting this thread. I always found deedee's advice supportive and would have never guessed her predicament. May she rest in peace.

As a relative newbie I did not know Deedee, but I would like to add my sympathies to all that knew her. I have not met anyone from here but this forum really does give as much as a best friend could if not more. This is the only place where I can express my experiences in words so the true value of the friendship offered here is nothing less than exceptional. It sounds like Deedee was a true friend to many and I am only sorry I did not get to know her.

    Do you know.

She was badley hurt in car accident that killed her husband and young son. She then developed ovarian cancer. She was paralysed from the chest down, with limited use of her arms. Her family lived away. Her Husbands family where so consumed by grief at the loss of their son that they had little contact with her.

    She still worked from home.

But she spent her time here helping others.

No matter what got thrown at her she never let it get her down.

She was pleased that this christmas she had two carers who did not have to rush off to family. So she decided to treat them to lunch at a nice country hotel. Her words " well i have to spend my allowance on something":D .The day was planned

Despite the fact that they had to load the van with oxygen, chair ect, they made it.

She told me a few dinners made comments and she had a few looks but that the waiters were wonderful.

When i said how angry that made me,she brushed it aside and took it in her stride and shrugged it off. That was deedee

She followed our meet thread in aug, sorry that she could not be there to meet you,but never sorry for herself.

Amazing person who joined this forum in 2003.

Just wanted some of you to know the real deedee.

Godbless sweetheart and thankyou for everything. DawnX
