As its only one entry per person. I would suggest that about 100 people + have just wasted their entry.

Florid simply describes the over-ornate decoration of the lamppost, and is a subjective description from the person who captioned the photo of the lamppost rather than being part of the actual name of the lamppost.
I have added lamppost to the OP, but am very reluctant to change it to anything else unless consensus points towards that?
The link that I posted (not in the OP, but later on) was simply to confirm the answer found by thingamabob.
I really don't think that people have wasted their entries; if anything, I think that you have taken my link to the 'florid' caption as the gospel answer.
Hope that this clears thing up.
