MoneySaving Video: News analysis on Base Rate cut and BT 0870 price cuts
Hi folks,
This is the discussion for the first of the brand new MoneySaving Video News uploads. Martin has recorded a videocast on today's historic interest rate cut.
MSE Senior Researcher, mainly responsible for looking after, and keeping up-to-date, ‘hard-core’ financial articles such as credit cards, savings and loans.

Our £120k HBOS tracker mortgage product finished in December & we then reverted to their 4.50%* Standard Variable Rate (SVR).
Our question is – now HBOS has been swallowed by Lloyds TSB/C&G with massive help from us taxpayers shouldn’t the SVR now be uniform across all their brands?
The 1% difference means we pay £ 66 pcm ( £ 792 pa ) more than a Lloyds TSB/C&G mortgage customer on 3.50%* SVR.
Regards
Paul & Karen.
