Got a large delivery today. Already sorting some returns. Is it wrong to offer them to people on here first if they missed out?
Couldn't we start a list of peoples fav items they missed out on?
I have to confess I thought about this as I've got some stuff to go back - you would not beleive how fussy my daughter is on her clothing - and how nice it would be for someone else who missed out to be offered it as it is mostly the same size.
The thing is: You have bought on credit, you have to pay or return the goods in 10 days else you start getting charged on the outstanding balance.
What if you are not paid, the person chages their mind, you have to wait for payment to clear, you take Paypal will the buyer want to pay the additional costs if finding with a credit card. What if the buyer says the goods did not arrive, what if you send on trust and they do not pay you or they say the goods go missing, you'll have to pay for the goods and you do not have them. What if they pay you, you send to them and they decide they do not want it and want to send them back to you, while waiting to get the goods back you will start getting charged on the outstanding balance. There really are too many problems to mention with offering the goods you have on credit to other people.
You want to buy the goods: What if they do not fit or you do not like them after all (as I have found with the stuff I ordered), will you return them, will you pay the postage and other charges? You will not be able return them to store so you'll either be stuck with them or they will have to be sent to the sender, that will be 2 postage costs and no goods to show for it.
With the best will in the world - and I did think it would be a lovely idea - it is really not going to work, and for both sides to remember, not everyone is honest and you might be the one footing the bill while someone else is wearing the new clothes you paid for. And there will not be anything you can do about it.
Of course, if someone is local to you then nothing wrong with them popping to your house to look/try on. But to offer it to others you do not know when you have bought on your credit account is an absolute no-no as far as I am concerned. Just return the goods and let people know so they can log on each day and see whather it has been booked back into stock.
When the new catalogue comes out they do lots of items at low prices such as tops for £4 and jeans for £6 - I've paid this and more for kids stuff in the sale, if you get in quick you can get these items before they sell out and it'll not cost much more than in the sale.
Sorry to sound like a killjoy but beware of the problems that doing this may cause you!!0 -

Where would be a better place for this, we don't want to clog up this thread. How about, shop don't drop? We could have an I WANT FROM NEXT and I'VE GOT FROM NEXT.
I can't see this being allowed either as people would just end up buying stuff they did not want as they know people are after them and then popping a few extra quid onto things (post and packing) to profit from it. There is a place for doing that already - it is called eBay! Of course, you could put the stuff on eBay and then PM the other MSE'r so they could buy it - but that woul mean paying more because of the fees.0 -

A good point primrosey, I have a customer who saves every bag and also uses carrier bags with hand written labels to return goods, she gave me 13 returns recently, nice manageable packages:j. It makes up for the parcels the size of bin bags we deliver at Xmas and sale times.Originally posted by primrosey
CAN I JUST SAY ON BEHALF OF ALL THE COURIERS PLEASE PUT RETURNS IN AS MANY PARCELS AS POSSIBLE AS WE GET PAID BY THE PARCEL
THANKYOU
She had been a courier and knew we were paid per parcel at the rate of 45p whatever the size.0
