    Just received from the ed.....

    Hello

I'm sorry to hear that you are having some difficulty entering competitions
on our website. We are not actually experiencing any technical
difficulties at this end, so I am not sure why you keep getting these blank
screens. It may be worth trying again, in case it was due to a temporary
    'blip'.

One thing which might help is clearing your computer's cache, as your web
browser (eg Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera) could have cached
the blank page. This can happen if a user visits a page previously and the
browser then caches that page, assuming it is correct. When the user logs
in and goes back to that page, the browser knows that the user has been to
that page before and serves them the cached version of the page (in your
case it remembers that you have been to a page which has now expired -
hence the blank screen). Browsers do this to speed up web browsing because
it reduced calls to the web server. You can clear your local browser cache
by hitting Ctrl-F5 if you have a PC, or Command-R on a Mac. Command is the
    button with the Apple symbol.
There are details on how to clear the browser cache in the FAQs on the
    site:
    http://www.puzzlemagazines.co.uk/faq/competition-queries#problems-comps.
The method I mentioned is a short cut, the FAQs have the full procedure
which you may find more effective. Additionally I'd recommend that you
view the site in Firefox if possible.

Don't forget that you can also enter our competitions by post and
telephone, and in some cases by text and fax too.

    Best wishes
    Laura Morris

Well that's a comprehensive answer. Wonder if they would mind if I 'filched' some of that text for when customers complain they're having problems with our work website?
