Free £100 Boots Vouchers with Pru Health Insurance

Options
Pru have started advertising thier next offer if you take out health insurance with them (received this in an e-mail yesterday) it's not on thier website yet but it does mention it is only available if you phone and quote the reference. Looks like you get the vouchers after 2 payments so if you cancel after that and your payments are about £20 that's a profit of £60 (in Boots Vouchers)...

"Do you already have health insurance – or are you considering it? Then this could be the best news you get this year. Because now there’s a new plan from PruHealth. It starts with a very competitive price, gives you a starter discount of up to 30% off and then just gets better and better. Sounds too good to be true? Read on...

Apply before 31/03/06 and get £100 of Boots vouchers.

Call 0800 092 6666* (quoting ref - EM017) to join today.

Lower cost, not lower benefits from PruHealth:

INSTANT starter discount of up to 30% off – just answer a few simple questions
GUARANTEED 25% no claims bonus back towards renewal
Increasing up to 50% … 75% … even 100% for looking after yourself
Cover available at all UK private hospitals
A trained nurse helps you through any claims
We pay your bills directly whenever possible
25% no claims bonus back towards renewal
If you don’t need to claim this year, when you renew next year you’ll get a 25% no claims bonus – guaranteed.

Be rewarded for staying healthy
And there's more. We recognise and reward the things you do to stay healthy - nobody else does that. You can increase your no claims bonus to as much as 50% ... 75% ... even 100% back towards next year's cover. Yes, you read that correctly: all your annual premium back.

How do we do it?
Simple. If you look after yourself – say by eating well, or exercising – you’re less likely to make a claim. So we can charge you less.

Get something back every year

I quite fancy this. Is there anything in the T&C about there being a minimum number of payments before you can cancel? Your not tied in for 12 months min or anything?
  • As with any policy of this kind i can't see how they can tie you in to a 12 month contract, if you choose to cancel it at any time you are free to do so.

Probably worth checking their website for the general T & Cs.

I just used their online premium predictor, and using the basic Core Cover and an excess of £1000 gave me a quote of £31.46 per month. It does say that the predictor only gives you a rough guide (hence the name) and that to obtain a full quote you need to ring them. I guess if the 30% started discount Miss Daisy mentioned is applied, it may just be worth going to the trouble of taking out a policy for the Boots vouchers, but depends what the t&c's actually are, and I couldn't find any policy-specific ones online.
  • Frogling, i did an on-line quote and i decided to take the policy and the amount was the same from the initial quote to when i had completed the application, i.e. no hidden extrea costs. :j (decided to take the gym memberdhip offer so i didn't need to ring them but this shouldn't make a difference. ;)

For the gym membership it says the membership will close when you close your account but with the vouchers they couldn't cancel them, unless there is another T&C does anyone know them ?
    Nice to save.

I've called in today, quoted £30.48 a month with no excess, sounds a good policy with or without the vouchers! Plus the guy had a gorgeous Irish accent ;) They also do 50% off a visit to Champneys health spas, £90 instead of £180, bargin. Was thinking of getting health insurance so a huge thaqnks to the OP :)
