I've just got home from being out at work today (having had a couple of days completely zonked in bed poorly) and put the computer on to balance the accounts. And ... sigh ... realised we paid OH's card TOO EARLY in January and so it went on January's bill - so not on Feb's payment. Which should have been on by Friday. Which means we're going to get charged for late payment. I could cry. SO CLOSE to debt free and I managed to !!!! it up.

Give them a call and explain that you wanted the last payment that you sent to come off February's bill and not January's. I've done that in the past and they will waive the fee as the mistake is their's and set the amount you've paid against the right month.

OH is paid different days every month, I'm paid four weekly. We just can't agree on safe dates, so payment goes out the same day it comes in. Sadly, since employers are nice enough to jig pay days around Christmas that noone runs out of cash at the end of Jan, his pay day came BEFORE the cc date for the first time. Normally not a problem - and give us a few weeks, and never a problem again!

one mistake in 13k of paying stuff off, i mean we all demand perfection but that is rediculous!
