Default 2008-2010 away football shirt for a tenner

What's the deal?

Sports Direct has now added England football away shirts for £8.99 (short sleeve) or £14.99 (long sleeve) to its home shirts (white) selection, which are even cheaper - £4.49 for the short sleeve one; though they will be out of date more quickly.
  • Red away shirts 2008-2010. Men's Short sleeve, £8.99. Men's long sleeve, £12.99. Women's short sleeve, £12.99. More details
  • White home shirts 2007-2009. Men's Short sleeve, £4.49. Men's Long sleeve, £14.99. Women's short sleeve shirt, £4.49. More details
You can either get the shirts in store at Sports Direct (470 around the UK), Sports World or LillyWhites or you can get them online at Sports Direct but you'll pay a £3.95 delivery charge per order.

Are these the current shirts?

Kit usually last two years each time and the home and away shirts alternate, hence the away kit is 2008-2010 and home 2007-2009 expected to change next March.

I got one for my daughter - shirt, short and socks for under a 10er and that was with picking a shirt with pre-printed name and number.

Been on offer for a while on the home kit - but the away kit at 8 quid is a top find.

They are definitely the real thing with all umbro tags and branding.

Be quick!

Think kids shirts are a quid cheaper than adults. Shorts and socks were in limited supply in the smaller Hull store.

Is this red away shirt for a pre order because when you add it to the basket it says this?:

'Pre-order your 2008-10 short sleeve Away shirt now. (Product Style Code 371189) Launch date 12th March'

It's a good price. Its' just a shame it's a damn ugly kit!

The new Home (White) shirt for 2009-2011 will be out in about March/April next year.

I think it's meant to be like the popular 1982 shirt.

Be aware with this though... Neither of these shirts will still be worn by the team in the next competition, the World Cup in 2010 (if England qualify).

Hi Laura,

Sportsdirect have added that in error and are removing it staright away. You should be able to order those without a problem for immediate delivery.

Default England away kit

(first time poster!!)

I was concerned as it says on the web site order in advance for release on 12th March. I have spoken to the customer services, who though not sounding enirely confident, did confirm the shirts WERE available now, and that release date was 12th March 2008.

All football shirts are replicas, (or any sports shirts for that matter) the only 'original' ones are the ones worn by the players themselves, so any shirt sold in a sports shop is a 'replica' of a teams strip

hope this helps
