Leapfrog Pink Leapster - £23.99

Apologies if posted elsewhere, but spotted this today the pink leapster reduced to £23.99 (half price). I have been trying to get one of these for ages, so I'm very pleased! Hope it helps someone .....

Official MoneySavingExpert.com Insert:

A Leapster is a stand-alone learning console system to help kids learn Maths and English by pressing buttons on the books using a special pen. Books to go in them can usually be bought for upwards of £9.

Argos is selling both the green and pink Leapfrog Leapster consoles for £23.99. These consoles usually cost around £50. It's likely it's selling these off to clear stock for the L-Max console.

Plus MoneySavers in the past have reported picking up cheap games for these, at around £2-4 in TKMaxx and regional store Home Bargains so if you're in one of those shopping anyway it's worth keeping an eye out.

If you spot any other sources of cheap games please click reply and post to let others know.

Many thanks to MoneySaver iwannanicerlife for the top spot!

Can anyone tell me if the software for these is expensive?

I saw some in home bargains a couple of weeks ago but not sure if they were for the bigger version console. Can you use them both on each game or are they seperate cartridges?

I've been looking at the Vtech handheld game for my daughters birthday but i like the look and price of this one.

Thats seems quite good and they were selling the leapfrog items very low before..i think most for this game are £9.99 or higher with only 75p postage so i might get some more of them as seems a good deal.
  • Hi, don't know if the offer is still on but Toys-r-us were selling the consoles at half price £24-?? and the games were buy one get one free at around £19-45 a couple of weeks ago. I picked up the console, 2 games and a carrying case for just over £53 for my son's 5th birthday.

Hi, this is my first post so hope it's ok! I have bought one of the leapster consoles half price from Argos today but when I have got it home it is a leapster2 connected which says it can be connected to your pc, I have called leapfrog customer services and apparantly this is the updated version and only been out a week, she thinks I have been given the wrong one by mistake and says I should keep quiet!

:j my daughter had a leapster for christmas, we are so pleased with it. the games at full price are £20, but you can pick up bargains all year round between b.o.g.o.f.'s and after christmas i picked up cheap games in TK Max for about £7 each and one in Boots for £5. On her console there is a couple of preloaded games too !!! hope that helps
