300 free texts with £10 top up and...

You can call anyone else on Orange for free between 7pm and midnight every evening, including weekend evenings. All you need to do is top-up by a total of £10 or more each month and your evening minutes are free. Don't worry if you miss a month, as soon as you top-up a total of £10 or more again in a single month, you'll receive your free calls again the following month

Official note:

60,000 sims are available in the promotion.

Once you've clicked the Orange link, fill in the form at the bottom of the page by midnight on Wednesday and they'll send you your free Pay As You Go sim. Use the freephone number to activate it.

Existing PAYG customers can get the free evening minutes when they top up by £10 in a month by texting the word 'evening' to 1132 or 1133.

The evening calls are to other Orange mobiles between 7pm and 11.59pm up to a maximum of 600 minutes per month. After that you'll be charged at standard rates.

And as someone on a previous thread mentioned, you can also take advantage of "Orange Wednesdays", the 2-4-1 Cinema Ticket promotion...
  • ON Vodaphone you can also call other vodaphones free after 7 and all day weekends and there isn't a catch -no having to top up £x or anything else. Vodaphone came top in the network coverage relibility surveys too I beleive.
  • I've seen people show their phones at UCI, is this what that's about, and how does it work please?
  • Regarding calling other Vodafone's free after 7pm, my partner has a Vodafone PAYG sim and she is charged to call my Vodafone mobile after 7pm in the evening.

You must arrive at the cinema after the adverts have finished if you have missed this promotion

Its Orange wednesdays just text the word FILM to the number 241 from any Orange phone and they will send you a code back to show at the cinema which will get you 2 seats for the price of one.
Hope this helps and enjoy the film

I'm wary of switching to this. I only dropped Orange PAYG for Tesco Mobile in July because they stopped doing their 5 texts a day scheme. I used to get away with £5 to £10 a month but with Tesco Mobile its about £10 or a little more. I get 5p texts to 3 favourite numbers and 10p per min to these too. GPRS is a bit more expensive than my old Orange tariff but I get Clubcard points and Tesco have recently started to give a 10% bonus on your top up if you automatically top up online by £10 a month.

I love the idea of 300 texts a month: for my useage it more than compensates for the 40p/min rate to other network mobiles. My use is about 150 to 250 texts per month and less than 5 mins of calls. Orange also have better coverage than O2 (who Tesco use) in the areas of the UK I use my phone.

But what guarantees do we have that they'll keep the 300 texts a month?

Still I have applied for a SIM because in the end - it's a freebie! Not sure if I can port across my number so soon after having done so in July
  • The offer is finished now. It now costs £1.

you can usually pick up a contract offer that will cost you less than £10 a month net, if you don't like the free phone they give you just make sure its compatible with your existing phone.
