hello again - i missed you guys... Update on going BR!

I dont know how many of you remember me but I have been offline now for far too long and wanted to pop in and give you updates......

IM BANKRUPT!!!!

Finally did the deed last friday, which before hand had me terrified but, and i know everyone says this and Im *so* happy to be able to confirm, its really not as scary as you think. Im giving an account below of what happened cos I know i found them reassuring in the run up to my big day :)

Appointment was at 10.20 at the big law courts which was the most daunting thing about it - honestly, a building had me quaking! We went to a little office where a lovely lady went through my forms with me and took my money -or, more to the point, my mums money. I never did manage to save up for the fee :(

We then had about 3 hours to kill so we had breakfast and, because we had my nephew aged 18months with us, went up and down in the glass fronted lift for about an hour.... this, suprisingly reassured me the most, as all sorts of important legal type people were getting in and being so friendly. Im not sure this technique would work for anyone but.... if you can borrow a sprog it helped me!

Next I had to goto the waiting room for the court, which consisted of a long corridor full of lots of people.... I went straight to the usher at the end and asked what i should do and then we had to wait an hour. During this time, my name was called as the lovely lady at the beginning had forgotton to get me to swear my affidavit thingy so I had to walk all the way down the corridor past all the people and into the first office. My heart was beating something rotten!

Anyway, I then was called to see the judge and the usher man said I shoudn't worry as she was one of the nicest... he even patted my arm which i suspect means i looked like i was going to pass out. The judge was wearing a suit (i had images of courtrooms and wigs) and was sat at a desk in an office. She went through my forms with me, asked if I'd sought advice, she read my statement which Im glad about - stamped the form and wished me good luck for the future.... and that was it!!

On Monday I received 2 phone calls from the OR office, and both people were lovely and just wanted to go through my forms with me. Today I received a letter for them saying I have a telephone interview on May 6th, oh, and also a "we can reverse your bankrupcy" type junky letter from an ambulance chaser

On a personal level, and i know Im waffling now, I am now trying to rebuild my life. I managed to attract a stalker type person from my past so the day after my BR I moved 200 miles away to a new city. Im living with my brother now and he is keeping me fed and watered while I look for a part time job, although I had been signed off on the sick with depression and anxiety, i think it will be good for me to get out the house and earn some pennies!

I just want to, finally, after this epic message, thank you all for being so lovely to me while i was asking dafty questions and panicking. I wish everyone the world of luck, and I promise, it really wasn't as bad as you anticipate..... x x x

P.s an hour going up n down in a glass lift is much more scary than going BR:eek:

    Good luck for the future
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
