How do I make my grey pants white again?

I have some big pants which I last wore after having a caesarean a couple of years ago. In preparation for my next C-section I'd like to get these pants back to their original white colour rather than their current shade of grey, I've got them in a bleach solution but it doesn't seem to be making any difference.
What do I need to do?????
Thanks in advance.

Hi Tibbie's mum
Some of the suggestions on these older threads might help:
Grey laundry back to white - I've done it! (pure OS)
Can you do anything with grey clothing
OS way to brighter whites?
Brightening whites (well, greys at the mo)
keeping whites white?
Good luck with the birth.

Thanks Pink-winged, I love the suggestion of boiling in the slow cooker with Borax. I'll definately be trying that one!!!
Thanks again!!!0 -
I've just tried a couple of denture cleaning tablets, (which I usually use for cleaning the toilet and not my knashers), along with some biological powder and the results aren't too bad but I will get round to boiling my knickers in the slow cooker for absolute bright whiteness.
But using the denture cleaning tablets doesn't 'arf leave them smelling minty fresh!!!!!0 -
Oooh, you've got me feeling all nostalgic about my c-section pants now ... they were so blimmin' comfy!!!That's Numberwang!0

Personally I'd dye 'em black! The best advice I ever read (after I'd given birth to my two I hasten to add) was to only take dark coloured towels and dark coloured knickers into hospital with you, as you aren't then spending any time worrying about how you might get any nasty stains out after they've been allowed to set for a few days while you were in hospital.
Have to confess I wouldn't put them in my slow cooker, especially if I was planning to use the slow cooker after the birth for some easy family meals!0 -
I tried this with one old pants before I went into hospital with my first birth.
They went a navy colour supposed to be black but the worst thing was the elastic went a shocking pink colour - gave the midwife a laugh!!
