Wet n wild cosmetic 99p sale

Options
Official MoneySavingExpert.com Forum Insert:

Budget cosmetics maker Wet 'n' wild, sold in New Look & Boots, has reduced the price of every item in its online store to 99p. What's more, delivery is free on all orders over £10, so you can come away with 11 items for £10.89.

As for quality, the consensus is that you can't expect anything to compete with the likes of MAC or Stila, but even at usual prices it's generally good value. Of course, some things are better than others, so if you know what's what, please leave feedback below.

Thanks to greenpixey for posting this!

I just had an email from them saying:
To celebrate the new year in traditional wet n wild style we have reduced the price of EVERY ITEM available through the online store to just 99 pence.

There is not a code to put into the checkout as other similar offers all there is to do is benefit from this huge discount online now.

  • Wow, thanks :-) Hope the stuff is nice - I've just given my make-up bag a complete overhaul (I haven't updated anything since my wedding 7 years ago, oops!).

Some real bargains there! They've got an eyebrow kit which looks like Smashbox's Brow Tech - brilliant value for 99p!

I did that too. Ordered 11 items and it all came to £10.89. Now I'm considering ordering some more and put together a hamper for my friends birthday in March.

Googled the brand and found this....
Listed as one of the top 5 selling cosmetic brands in the US, Wet n Wild has transformed everybody from 'A' list celebrities to music icons. Wet n wild’s extensive collection of dazzling colours in the latest shades has now travelled across the water to the UK. Fabulous cosmetics, brilliant prices!

I havn't actually tried the stuff my self yet. But for that kind of prices I think it's worth a try

"Launched in 1980 as the USA’s first ‘all 99 cent’ cosmetic line"

When I was in New York I used a lot of Wet n Wild items, they are quite popular in the states. I'd compare the range to Boots own branded makeup (I think it's called '17') - not brilliant quality or long lasting, but good for the price you pay.

Just to give you some idea of what I'm used to - I usually use Max Factor and Rimmel products.

As for prices, most of the items were 99p before the sale, the items you need to buy for big savings are the diamond lip glosses, lipsticks, foundations and bronzers. Most of the powder compacts are usually 99p anyway.

What I'd recommend: Mascara, nail polish, powder brushes, mineral foundation, powder bronzer.

What to avoid: Liquid foundation and liquid eyeliner - doesn't stay on well at all.

My personal favorite is the mineral foundation, it's usually £4-£5 and is almost as good as the Loreal bare minerals, though is a little thinner so does not provide as much cover-up. Only problem is that (like all mineral powders) it contains Mica which triggers breakouts on acne-prone skin.

Hope this helps! Any questions, just ask. :T
