This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track especially for the new year so....
Good afternoon everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Good luck everyone.:T
P.S. Thanks SarahNeedle as I plagerised some of the above, hope you don't mind.

I pledge £16 as that is currently what is in my purse. I will not include things that are budgeted for else where such as travel, bills etc. So this amount is in effect what I choose to spend on so in theory could be zero.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Ok... this is hard.. but I guess if i resist temptation then there is no reason why i shouldnt be able to do this. I pledge to not spend over... £10.
woohoo.. i have said it now, so going to stick to it! Thankyou!9 years and counting0 -
Going to give this challenge a go....and pray I don't fall by the wayside like I seem to do on every other challenge!!!:o
We are going away tomorrow till Friday so I was originally going to use that as an excuse to skip this week and join next week. But then I thought this is an ideal week to start, so.....
I pledge £60. This is what I have to spend, other than food, petrol etc. Its cash I have in my purse so if I stick to this I won't touch my bank account. (don't worry, its not a stingy week away - OH has all our other spending money!!)
Fingers crossed........

Hi!
Fab idea for a challenge.
I pledge not to spend more than £30, would be lower than this but I am going to town tomorrow and want to get a couple of bits in sales for birthday presents.

Not so good for me yesterday my friend dragged me to lunch at Wagamama's £10 and I put money on my card at work for a little breakfast and so I can get stuff out of the vending machines £3.50
So I'm on £13.50 out of £16 so far. It seems a long way until Friday now!Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Oooooppps went to the sales yesterday as planned and spent £27, leaving me a grand total of £3 for rest of week!
Not going out today, and family party tonight. Will probably just veg out tomorrow so that means I can go wild Friday and spend my princely sum!!!
Hope everyone else is doing better than me X XDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Oh dear I finished work early today and got persuaded to go to the pub so I am now £6.50 lighter.
So that is £20 out of £16 for the week. So not doing so well but as most things are shut tomorrow should hopefully be a NSD.
How is everyone else doing?Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30
