Ski wear stylish but cheap please

:)Hi all,

Love this site, this is my first post! A dear friend of mine is going skiing early next year. She is looking for some stylish but cheap ski-wear, has anyone any ideas, apart from Ebay?

Thanks

Emma

    Hi Emma

Welcome to a great community, try Lidl, https://www.lidl.co.uk, they are doing special ski wear promotions from Monday 8th November. Dont know how stylish the ski wear will be, although I have always found Lidl to be value for money.

    Welcome!

I am trying to imagine how ski wear can look stylish when your bum's in the air, but hey, who'll be watching? And I am not the most stylish MSE in the world either. But, to try and be helpful:

Lidl have ski wear on special from Monday 8th November. http://www.lidl.co.uk/ to have a look - click on the weekly specials. Can't vouch for the stylish but we bought some last year and it seemed good quality. We didn't keep it because there was room for two of my son inside it.

We ended up in Asda, which had good prices.

I also looked in TK Maxx, which is probably the place for style, if they have what you want.

Browsing charity shops is another possibility: my son almost ended up in a fetching pink and blue all-in one. ;D I'm too good to him really.

  • I got all my sons stuff from Decathlon for a school trip to Austria a year ago, it actually worked out cheaper than hiring from the school!! He's a tall lad and I got an all in one suit for under £40, bright red so he could be seen easily against the snow, gloves, hat, glasses, warm boots, socks and thermals - all came to under £80 - quite a bit of it was in the sale tho' - def worth a looky ;D
  • ;DThanks for the welcome and the suggestions, I will pass them on to her!

Just a thought - whilst all-in-one suits are warm, it is probably better in the long run to get separate jacket and bottoms - this way you can update/replace/lend/borrow in stages as fashions change, children grow etc. Also you can travel in the jacket (saves on luggage) and wear it in the evenings (in resort and at home) - and it's certainly much easier for sunbathing at lunchtime and for answering calls of nature!! :j

Lidl have also got some great ski wear, typical, I came back from Tignes last Wednesday and ended up spending quite a bit of my fleece and Lidl have one for a quarter of the price. The also have ski, ski boot and snowboard bags from £3.99.
