The Painted Veil is in cinemas nationwide from April 27th and features a Golden Globe award-winning soundtrack composed by Alexandre Desplat and featuring the prodigiously gifted pianist Lang Lang.
Based on the classic novel by Somerset Maugham and starring Academy Award-nominees Naomi Watts and Edward Norton, The Painted Veil is an epic and captivating love story.
Set in the 1920s it tells the tale of a young English couple, Walter and Kitty, who marry for the wrong reasons. Soon after relocating to Shanghai, Kitty falls in love with another man and, in revenge for her infidelity, Walter forces her to accompany him to a remote village ravaged by an epidemic.
However, experiencing the hardships of the journey together, they begin to find not only themselves but also each other in one of the most remote and beautiful places on earth.
