In a moment of madness and in the anticipation of a family barbecue which subsequently didn't happen, I got 8 cobs of fresh sweetcorn from the supermarket and I've only 2 mouths to feed tonight. Can I freeze them "as is", or should I blanch them first?
Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.

I grow sweetcorn and blanche it first. That way the kernels stay firm and moist - they can go a bit dry if you freeze them as they are.
Also, a couple of mins in the microwave, and they're ready.
