Breadcrumb substitutes

Options
I've made some of the stuffing and lentil burgers today (look fab, will see what they taste like later :p) and only have enough breadcrumbs to coat some of them.

I'm trying to think of something else I can use for the others, but all I can think of is cous cous or cereal (but I only have 'rice crispies' so not sure they'd work!)

Would cous cous work? Or shall I just leave them without crumbs?!

Thanks for any help :)

You can definitely use rice crispies, give them a little bash first so they turn into crumbs. Also cornflakes are ok for this. Not sure about couscous though. Oatflakes are also very good (I used to fry herrings coated in porridge oats when I was married to my first husband, a Scot, and they were delicious!).
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I have just covered the remaining two in rice crispies. I was a bit worried they'd taste sweet so added a tiny bit of salt.

    Thank you :)

Oatmeal is a good breadcrumbs substitute!

I've got a box of honey nut cornflakes that the kids don't eat anymore, to get rid of them i've been using a few at a time as breadcrumb substitute

Polenta works well on veggie type burgers, I regularly make a batch and do half in HM breadcrumbs and half in polenta.

I did think of crisps (saw that on here :D) but I only have cheese puffs at the moment :o

Thanks for all the suggestions, i'll bear them in mind as don't tend to buy bread anymore, so unless I make some i'm usually breadcrumb-less!

They were really nice last night, went really crispy, but next time i'll have to add some seasoning (thought the stuffing would do that for me) as they were a bit tasteless.
