I don't know if there is another way but the credit reference agencies will list them. He may be able to request them himself because they are on the internet although I don't know if the German address might be a problem.
The two agencies are Equifax and Experian
Either one will do and it only costs £2 to get a report of everything they know about his credit history.0 -
CCJs are registered and stay on the registry for about 6 years.
You can search the registry or find more information here

You can search online for a payment on £4.50.
It's unlikely, however, that an 8 year old judgement would still be on the register. But, if a CCJ was made, it might have been less than 6 years ago - it depends on how long the lender took, before applying for the CCJ.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
