I'm looking for inspiration for Salade Tiede (warm salad)

Options
I can't get excited about normal cold salad for an evening meal when it's windy and dark so occasionally I make a Salade Tiede.

This is basically shredded mixed leaves with few other salad bits plus hot crispy croutons, bacon and chicken strips, these are cooked and quickly served hot mixed with the salad bits and dressed with a sharp vinaigrette. I'm in a rut with this though, I use an assorment of items from this list;
rocket, avocado, sliced olives, hard boiled eggs, beetroot, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion slices etc..

But for the hot part of the dish I can't think further than the chicken, bacon, new potatoes and croutons, what else works well in a dish like this?

    Hi at,

    I had one in a restaurant recently that had mangetout and green beens fried in garlic butter mixed through and it was lovely....but it was chicken based too. What about some prawns for a change?

    You could provide a contrast in the form of gazpacho....

    How about roast or grilled veg? I like peppers, aubergine, tomatoes, red onion and courgettes. I also love grilled goats cheese salad. You need a cheese with a rind, cut it in half and place under a hot grill until it begins to bubble.

    I had one the other day, with warm chicken, cut into strips and seasoned.
    Topped with a warm sauce and a soft poached egg.

    Little tubs of chicken livers, cleaned of green or stringy bits, just fried quickly in butter + any or all of above. Have you tried it with baby spinach leaves (raw) ; you hurl a bit of wine vinegar - or balsamic if you have it, into the frying fat at last minute and tip that all over leaves which wilt down nicely. umm I'm getting hungry now.....

    How about fresh tuna, pan-fried and sliced thinly? Would go really well with hot green beans, boiled egg and spuds for a proper salade nicoise-type thing.

    Roasted butternut squash or pumpkin? Or panfried steak, medium rare? Lamb or duck breasts?
