Robinson Way

We have recently received a letter, from Provident Personal Credit, which refers to them having been appointed by Robinson Way to collect a debt outstanding from Next. We have not incurred the debt, have never bought anything from Next and don't have any unpaid bills. Coincidentally, the debtor surname is the same as ours and we have previously received the odd letter for the same person, presumably who lived here before we bought the house about 5 years ago.
Interestingly, Next have no record of a debt associated with our address and, reasonably, wouldn't disclose any information relating to any other person.
Provident say that they will not pursue the debt.
Does anyone have a similar experience of Robinson Way or this type of approach?

If the debt is for someone else, in someone else name do return to sender.
If the debt is for someone else, but they have put it in your name, send the prove it letter - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
