                    Hello :hello:
I took out a loan with Provident a while back, the person who came to get my payments ended up falling out with me (I wasn't at home one time when she came to get a payment and didn't call to let her know) and decided she would no longer come to take my payments, she said someone would call me but nobody ever did and nobody else came, so I left it (I know, I know), I moved house and finally got a call from someone months later.
I gave them my new address and someone came out once and took my payment but he told me someone else would come out as he didn't work in that area, again, he said I would get a call. It never happened. I started to get letters threatening to pass it onto a debt collection company, I phoned them numerous times, each time being told that the manager for my area will phone me to arrange someone to come out and collect my money but nobody ever does! I get letters at least once a week, I phone them, nobody phones back. I don't know what I can do!
I am moving house again on 15th Feb (cheaper place to try pay off all my debts asap) and I am planning to have the money to pay them off within a couple of months to get rid of them (if I don't get made redundant, fingers crossed) but in the meantime what can I do? They won't let me pay them, they won't call me back, they won't come collect the money. I am trying to pay them but I get letters saying that I am avoiding paying them, and avoiding phone calls! They definately have the right phone number...
I am tearing my hair out here! Thanks for any advice

Would you be able to send cheques to the office? If you can pay them off soon I wouldn't worry too much about it, even if they decide to take you to court or something then by the time it's sorted you'll be able to pay them off. I'd also try making a formal complaint to them about them not being able to take payments and ignoring all your efforts.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

I agree make a formal complaint in writing and send it by recorded delivery keeping a copy for yourself, that way if the worst happens and your unable to pay them off you have evidence that you have been trying to pay them in case they take things further. 0 0

Thank you, I will send in a complaint and mention about paying by cheque in that. The whole thing has been a nightmare :eek:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

            Hi
I had bad time with provident. The very first payment no agent turned up. I rang office they said they look into it. 6 weeks later and still no agent.
I made endless calls and spoke to managers and eventually someone came round.
Then again months later and agent doesnt turn up again. After a few weeks i got a letter threatening to take action because i hadnt paid.
the company are a nitemare and i will never borrow from them again
I was told by the manager if an agent doesnt come round you can ring and make a payment by debit card.0

write to their head office and complain. and ask to set up direct debit or standing order. make sure everything is in writing not on phone otherwise you have no evidence.0
