Pork recipe suggestions

Options
I went to tesco this morning and got 2 packs of pork that were reduced the type ready cut for stir frys etc. there is about 650g in all.

now i picked this up as Mr T is not delivering until late tomorrow night as now my SIL is coming for dinner tomorrow though she has not confirmed whether her OH is coming to :( . But i am not sure what to cook, we don't see her that often so want to cook something nice and i liked the look of the pork i have most staples in my fridge and cupboards but no idea what to make it into. Help please.

  • well my fave thing with that is bulgogi, (technically korean beef but works well with pork too)
soy sauce, sesame seeds and chopped spring onions, to marinade the strips of meat in and then dry fry the meat and serve with rice and stir fried veggies.

also using a tin of condensed mushroom soup, dry fry the meat and then add the soup and some extra veg and serve with rice or jacket spuds.

I've got a recipe for sweet & sour sauce, but I don't think that this would go very well with the chocolate cake.

Pork in Hoi Sin Sauce is lovely but very lazy!

Plonk pork on huge piece of tin foil. Chop up some chunky veggies (onions, mixed peppers etc.) cover with jar of Hoi Sin Sauce (Sharwoods is v. nice). Seal tin foil to make parcel making sure the folds are up in the air so the sauce doesn't escape. Place on baking tray to catch leaks. Stick in oven at 180 C ish for 40 mins. Add some noodles or rice.

    Hoi Sin Sauce :

    Ingredients:
    4 Tablespoons Soy sauce - dark/light/usual
2 tablespoons Peanut butter - or black bean paste
1 tablespoon Honey - or molasses
    2 teaspoons white vinegar
    1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
    2 teaspoons sesame seed oil
    20 drops Chinese-style hot sauce
    1/8 teaspoon black pepper
    Directions:
Simply mix all ingredients by hand.
At first it does not appear like it will mix, but keep at it just a bit longer and you have Hoisin Sauce. Letting it rest does not appear to improve the flavour any.

Your wish is my command ...

    INGREDIENTS

    5 tablespoons of orange juice
    3 tablespoons of vinegar
    2 tablespoons of sherry
    2 tablespoons of soy sauce
    2 tablespoons of water
    1½ tablespoons of cornflour
    1 tablespoon of sugar
    1 tablespoon of tomato puree

    METHOD

Mix the cornflour and water in a cup. Put all the other ingredients into a small pan. Heat gently. Add the conflour mix and stir continuously, to stop it sticking and going lumpy. When it reaches the desired consistency, take it off the heat.

    ADDITIONS & ALTERATIONS

You can adjust this to your taste by adding sugar to make it sweeter or vinegar to make it sourer. The quantities given should make enough sauce for 500g of chicken which should serve 3 to 4 people.
