Hi i have just been given a couple of braces of pheasant which are hanging in my (very cold) kitchen, I havn't a clue how to draw them although i can pluck! I have a friend who will be down in a couple of weeks who can do this for me, I'm sure i read somewhere that you can freeze them whole, undrawn and plucked, has anyone done this?

Just discussed this with DH - we agree that we'd draw the birds before freezing. Undrawn, they'll be difficult to thaw, the meat might taint, and the drawing process may be more difficult.
We also agree that given the choice, we'd rather draw a bird then pluck it.
There are some instructions, with pictures, here. Might be a video on Videojug, or similar site.

I saw the 'freezing pheasant' headline and the image of a poor little pheasant with woolly hat and scarf shivering away, popped into my head - and it won't go away!!!!!0

I just take the legs and breast off of mine and freeze them this way. Ideal for a lovely pheasant casserole.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
