Bother Kethry's recipe says brown bread crumbs (got wholemeal bread flour but not brown) and 3 types of alcohol which I don't have, any easier recipes? Maybe with one type of alcohol instead of having to buy 3 (we don't drink, all I have is 3 year old Tia Maria, Archers and Vodka)

probably too late now.. but i've made this with home made bread, which uses wholemeal bread flour. *shrug*. i think the emphasis is on tasty bread, not plastic white, within the pud.

As for the booze: you could do a mix of Tia Maria and Vodka easily enough... I wouldn't add the Archers though! Just do it so you're using the same amount of booze in total. But give it a try, most of the alcohol boils off during cooking, and Tia Maria is tasty enough to give you a good "base". hm. I would suggest using more Tia Maria than vodka though. If i remember right the recipe calls for 2 tbsp of port, rum and brandy. I'd do 4 tbsp of tia maria and 2 of vodka instead. Failing that.. minatures are good for this kind of thing.

    Hi everyone!

Yesterday afternoon I was having look at the fish van that is at the top of our road on Saturdays. He often has meat too and yesterday had some fresh pheasants. They were £3.75 each and I was umming and aahing about getting one (I've eaten crocodile, ostrich, zebra etc but never tried pheasant!!). He was about to pack up for the day and told me to take the last 2 for £4 so I did! Having a roast with one tonight and the other one is in the freezer for another time.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what goes well with pheasant?!

I went out clubbing for the first time since the beginning of January last night and had a fantastic (and very cheap!) night! My mum gave me £20 to spend, I felt about 17 again :rotfl:I was going to cancel my night out because of the money situation but she said it was important that I went out with my friends still. I love my mum!! OH was left holding the baby :D

Need to go to Sainsburys and get some milk for the week, just about to work out what else we need - probably not much thanks to you lot! Going to make Twinks hobnobs later, some rainbow cakes, and more pasties for Tim's lunches.

    Have a good afternoon!

    Hi Lisa here's one :D

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=6809965&postcount=224

Just replace the flour with the doves farm one and gluten free baking powder.I'll dig out a muffin one in a sec

I've also done as a GF/CF one by replacing the butter with Pure..works fine :)

    A tray  :rotfl: :D:D:D

Sorry - couldn't resist :o:o I cook mine in a rectangular tin. It's then cut into squares, rather than slices, as you would with a round cake.
