Anyone know why the MSE forums doesn't like the Offer of the Day.co.uk website?
Every time I try to link it or even type it in full (I think others have tried too) it comes up with !!!!!!!!!!!!.co.uk
Have there been issues with them on here in the past?

Yes, I asked the same question some time back - apparently at some point they had a referral thing going and several sites (including here) were regularly 'bombed'. Don't remember this myself, but it came up when I tried to post a couple of links.0

Wonder if they'd 'censor' the IP address?
Which is http://78.109.160.219/
Will check in a wee while

Yeah it works!
It's a shame they shouldn't block the website itself. If they have the techno-how to block a site why not block affiliate links altogether and allow only the homepage address (i.e. if someone tries to put an affiliate link with a site it would come out as https://www.thissite.co.uk/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)Minds are like parachutes - they only function when open.

as each aff or ref link is unique, while the web site name is common , no practical way of stopping itEx forum ambassador

i didn't actually mean specific affiliate links but to make links which a re known to have affiliate programs like this one and prevent any further linking after the main homepage so only the homepage will ever get displayed (i.e. nothing after the first .com/) regardless, that way if it is a useful site people will still get to see it.Minds are like parachutes - they only function when open.

Well you cant do that because you will leave mse and go to that web site and thus use there host and links as they are then external links
Its much easy to just block known web sites0 -

No idea what you mean by that, any link put on MSE would mean you would leave MSE and use that sites host and their links.
I just think it's a shame becuase the MSE site is supposed to help people and sites like Offer of the Day are useful to people (they've done nothing wrong themselves I'm guessing, and it's the affiliate referers themselves that did the "bombing")Minds are like parachutes - they only function when open.
