Have just placed my first approved foods order 
oh heck! I thought I ordered 1 packet of this:
but it's a case of 8 packs!:eek:
What will I serve it with? Bit concerned OH will not appreciate the same meal 8 times in a month
Anyone bought it before? Is it even nice?!

Do you eat meat? If so, my dad makes his own and uses it as a stuffing-type side dish to go with roast chicken at Christmas. It's lovely in sandwiches with cold chicken and mayo the next day, too.
You could perhaps also use it to make some sort of rissoles, to use like veggie meatballs. I've never tried packet nut roast so I don't know if that would actually work, but it might be worth a try as you've got so much. Back after a very long break!0 -
would it make burger type meal with chips or (non - meat) balls then you could have them with tomato sauce0

nut roast goes well with roasted veg.
I usually do a combination of the following. onions, parsnips, swede, turnip, carrots, beetroot, courgette, aubergines, potatoes.

I have never used that one specifically...
But I have used similar veggie mixes...
I have made them up, shaped them into burgers or sausages, cooked them then frozen them.
They are always fine.... and it means you have a bit longer to use them, iykwim.
They would probably make a nice stuffing ball as well, to accompany any roast that you may have.

We use this quite often as my daughter is a vegetarian (i was one for 13 years, but no longer am). I rarely use it as per the instructions, Last night for example, I made it up as per packet instructions and then added it to a bowl containing 2 cans of chopped chick peas (previously cooked), a few spices, some breadcrumbs, a few tbs of tomato puree, salt and pepper, i think i threw a bit of grated cheese in also. Mixed it all up with an egg to bind it (though it didn't really need it). Then I made into balls and squashed to make them into burgers, though it could be put in a loaf tin and baked then sliced.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Approved foods order arrived today
Had nut roast for tea with gravy and veg and am having the rest tomorrow for lunch with leftover veg. It is nice and really filling! Haven't felt like cake after or snacking this evening which is a huge bonus!
Reckon I will try adding some veg/chick peas/spices to the mix another time.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0
