E: 08/12 Win THE PROPOSAL on DVD

MovieMonkeys have posted a mini advent competition that started yesterday with a comp to win THE PROPOSAL on DVD. There will be a daily comp until December 8th and you can enter once by email + once by Twitter each day, until 10 PM on the day after the comp. Also worth noting that it's themed around their Christmas Gift Guide so worth checking out for a bit of shopping inspiration!

Each entry for dailies will be entered into a draw to win a copy of every single DVD set that was up for grabs during the week.

Day 1 prize: THE PROPOSAL on DVD (E: 01/12 at 10PM)

ahhhh i know their error!!! they say against Dances with wolves, which was up for nomination in 1990,which was Jeremy Irons.
where 1991 which is the year they quote in the comp was Anthony hopkins

Original Answer is Correct!
The Oscars for 1990 were held in March 1991 when Dances with Wolves won 7, but Jeremy Irons got the best actor. Anthony Hopkins won the 1991 Oscar at the ceremony held in 1992. Confusion arises because the ceremony is held in the following year.

You are both right, Anthony Hopkins did win best actor in 1991 (Silence of he Lambs won best picture) - but they have got the question wrong because Dancing with Wolves won in 1990, and that year it was Jeremy Irons who won.

I would guess, because of the DVD you can win, Jeremy Irons is the answer they are after.
