Anyone had any luck doing F&F with Moorcroft?

As the title says, I am looking for some advice about dealing with Moorcroft, particularly F&F advice. I have done a search on here and 99% of the posts seem to be slating them and their tactics.

Can I call them to discuss F&F settlement, or is this to be done by letter only? Will they even entertain the idea? Not really sure what to do for the best. The debt is for £1222 (sold to them by First Direct). I really don't want to be getting nuisance calls from them so I will withhold my number if I do call them.

For the record, I am not disputing the debt.

Thanks

DONT speak to them on the phone they are bullies.Do all communications in writing.

There is a template letter for f+f on this website /www.nationaldebtline.co.uk

I would start low maybee 10% it will give you more room to negotiate.
Also have you requested a cca from them if they cannot produce one it will give you more bargaining power

    good luck

Are you sure Moorcroft own this debt or are they just collecting on behalf of someone?

The debt was passed firstly to Metropolitan then sold on to Moorcroft. On advice from 10past6 I am going to write offering F&F at 30%(ish). I think 10% is taking the p***. I am all for trying to negotiate but starting as low as 10% would mean too many letters back and forth trying to come to a satisfactory conclusion.

I agree, you need to draw them in to thinking you're serious.

30% is a good starting point.

Ok, so today I received a reply from Moorcroft...."we will accept £1038.91 as partial settlement ....... and the remaining balance will not be pursued by ourselves"!!

Big fat hairy deal.....a measley £183.09 off the total.

Should I offer again, upping my original offer by £25 or don't I stand a chance?
