Does anyone have a recipe for mixed spice please?

I don't fancy buying those schwartz refil packs and i am sure i have all the ingrediants at home (cinamon, nutmeg, corriander etc etc) - just don't know the quantities...

thanks pink winged - except i popped out earlier today and paid the earth for a box of schwartz mixed spice despite having all these ingrediants at home (just didn't know the quantities). Have logged the link and hopefully it'll save me a few pennies next time i run out (which will be this time next year again i guess...)

    thanks anyway

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I'm using the Delia recipe for making mincemeat and I don't have any but thought I might be able to make my own. Trouble is I have no idea what I need and in what quantities!

    Thanks :)

my asda one sayscinnamon 46%, coriander 20.5%, Nutmeg 14%, clove 9.3% pimento 7.4% ginger 2.8%. At least, that's what I think! It's small.

Morrisons has Cinnamon, coriander, caraway, ginger, fennel, nutmeg, cloves and turmeric(eek!)

I guess the answer to your question re quantities is that it's up to you!

Thanks. I have most of the ingredients for it in big quantities so would rather not buy more if I can help it :)

Is ground spice the same as all spice?

    Great thanks :)

It just confuses me as as was as the mixed spice you add others that are also in mixed spice, but then I suppose it's just extra! Well I have the majority of those ingredients so will just go by the smell and hope I don't add too much :rotfl:

I've never made mincemeat before and don't want to get it wrong :o Making Christmas Pudding seems so much easier :D
