Hiya,
Ive done a trawl of the OS boards, but the only recipes I can spot (pink-winged are you there, you always seem to attach really useful threads?!) involve just little bits of mint sauce at a time, (put it in gravy, smear it on lamb for the slow-cooker...)
Here's my issue: For my christmas hamper challenge, I'm getting through jars at a great rate of knots. Even with neighbours, freecycle etc, I still need more. Tempted to go for Asda smart price mint sauce at 12p a jar. I'll need to buy about 12 of them (this would be a huge amount of roast lamb!;)
So... can any of you lovely peeps think of a big batch cook that I can do and freeze to use up 12 jars worth, or Lots anyway, of the stuff?
Thanks all;)

Sorry can't think of recipes to use it, but can you not just freeze it in little bags, and take one out at a time??Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

Hi weezl,
Sorry I can't find anything on this either, but trying's suggestion sounds good.

Hey, no worries guys,
thanks for trying pink, and freezing sounds good TVT (icecube tray also occurred to me, as one cube in a lamb gravy might work...)
I would press both your thanks buttons, but mine have disappeared again today!:o
I've also thought of a cous-cous, tomato, mint and olive oil thing I used to do. I think the olive oil would off-set the vinegaryness if I used a jar of the sauce in that.
I'll let you know how it goes!:D
Very OS of me not to just chuck the sauce out eh?

Would you be able to add it to any other sort of hm pickle/chutney? Maybe serve it as a relish with cucumber
?

ooh, that's an interesting idea! I could use it in yoghurt to make tsatsiki then as well. Ta very much! Again I'd press your thanks button, but still not there for me today, sorry!

I have just done as advised above without problem. As a matter of interest, they allow you to use their service for the full 30 days even though you have cancelled. Not a bad service and very helpful guyI USED TO BE INDECISIVE BUT NOW I'M NOT SO SURE!
