Mills and Boon- Romance costs nothing!

Whats the deal?

Romance novels publisher Mills and Boon is offering two free books to anybody that subscribes to its online book club. You can choose from three areas; Modern Romance, Historical Romance and Silhouette Intrigue. Plus, Mills and Boon is promising a mystery free gift to all new customers.

Sadly, delivery can take up to 28 days, so you won't receive them in time for Christmas.

How can I get them?

Simply sign up on the Mills and Boon website. You needn't provide any payment details when you sign up, as long as you select "bill me" from the drop down menu on the checkout page.

What's the catch?

By signing up, you're joining Mills and Boon's book club, which will post four more books after a month, at a cost of £2.80 each with free postage. Yet you don't have to continue the subscription once you've got the freebies.

Just make sure you write "cancel" on the despatch note that comes with your free books and return it to the supplier to opt out. Forget and you'll continue to receive books and may end up an incurable (and slightly out of pocket) romantic!

I was ok cancelling but I did pay for them for a bit before I cancelled. The free gifts are normally a bit naff - cutlery or Xmas cracker jewellery I had.
The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese
  • I got these for my Mum, for Xmas, signed up about 10 days ago (I think there was another thread for this somewhere on this board). Received them yesterday morning, and saw that I was now "a member and would receive 4 books at 2.80" but I emailed them the same day, and cancelled, and they got back to me today and said that my membership was cancelled.

    So fingers crossed...
    MSE: It's grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
  • I signed up last time they had this offer on and never received anything!

Same happened to me as well........
  • I had no problems cancelling, just wrote "CANCEL" on the delivery note and never heard from them again.

The "Mystery Free Gift" in my case was a pack of 4 or 6 postcards with autumn scenes on. A bit naff really but the books were a great present for OH's mum.
  • I DID have problems cancelling, even though I had written "CANCEL" on the despatch form as required, they still sent me another four books and a bill for £11.96.

But after a couple of emails, they said I could keep the books and they would honour the cancellation...so all in all not a bad outcome...
