I would recommend uploading using FTP as I found their upload a bit hit and miss and a lot slower.

  MediaMax gives you a lot of free storage space, but since data isn't encrypted, it simply isn't very secure compared to paid services. However, if you are looking for a place to offload photo, video or music files and use a Windows operating system, MediaMax is a good option.
