Hi All,
Hope you can help, I am after a loft ladder that fits! I bought one from B&Q and the bracket is to fit just inside the hatch, but I have joists in the way. Therefore I am trying to find the ladders which fit on the actual loft door, similar to the link attached but in alluminum and cheaper!
When we were viewing houses before we bought our current one, there were several houses which did have this sort of ladder fitted, so they must be widely availble - have checked homebase, B&Q and Wickes?

TIA

Hi
I'm not sure if this is any help but Wickes have two loft ladders
A standard one for £29.99
and a deluxe 3 section for £54.99
Sorry don't know how to post the links - just look under ladders on their website https://www.wickes.co.uk0 -
Standard £29.99: http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/530027
Deluxe £54.99: http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/5300280 -
We bought ours from Screwfix. They are loads cheaper than regular DIY stores.

Hope this helps0 -
Cheapest at Screwfix is £55 so not cheaper than Wickes.0

I'm rubbish at DIY so will need to get the cheapest possible ladder installed!

Yes but the cheapest at screwfix is equivilant to the most expensive at wickes - both 3 section, with hand rails, same 100kg maximum safe load etc.
I've seen screwfix cashback before, i think greasypalm have it.. and pigsback did have it but i'm not sure if they do anymore. I've never seen wickes cashback??
Also i don't know if you can get any codes for either site at the moment but on the face of it, if the cashback situation is what i think it is, you might be better off going with screwfix as you get the extra cashback 'discount' with them.
Both offer free delivery too btw!Lost lbs =

Maybe I'm missing something but this made no sense to me bearing in mind they are the same price: "Yes but the cheapest at screwfix is equivilant to the most expensive at wickes"...
I take your point about the cashback though if it is offered.0 -
What i meant was the cheapest ladder at screwfix is the same as the more expensive one at wickes.. so it's not more expensive if you look at it from a like for like angle.
However if you factor in cashback, then screwfix may work out just a little bit cheaper. I do not know about any other offer/discount codes available so just based on the cashback aspect, for the better ladder, screwfix would work out a better option in my opinion.
Sorry for confusion, i've been in a rush all day with something or other so didn't take my time in typing it out as well as i could have.Lost lbs =
