Limited use of kitchen whilst refurb - how to stay OS?

I am having my kitchen refurbished from 14th May and it will take 15 days. I may have limited use of my cooker for one reason or another - its gas but might not be able to use the kitchen!! I have limited freezer space although its full of veggie food. I want to limit the amount of takeaways and tv dinner I have to use over this period. I have all the basic store cupboard ingredients although space to store those will be limited. I will combine the refurb with a use up month. Any ideas to help me? I am a veggie. I have a microwave!! Thanks

Can you:
Move your freezer to the garage or somewhere out of the way?
Set up a "mini kitchen" which includes the microwave, a toaster, and a kettle, and buy a large number of plastic containers. You could then make your own "ready meals" to eat over fourteen nights and cook inthe microwave. You could also pre-cook rice and freeze, and I think this would probably work with pasta as well.
Veggies can be cooked in the microwave, so you could buy those fresh.
I also like to buy naan bread and heat it up in toaster. This can be eaten with warmed up curries, with casseroles, etc etc.
Couscous is easy to make with hot water, and as the weather gets warmer, you can eat salads and cold meats.
My kitchen has been in a rubbish state for about two months now - I'm waiting on my new one, and have become quite used to cooking with limited resources!Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Hi jazzyjustlaw,
These older threads should give you some ideas:

I'll merge all these threads together later to keep all the suggestions together.
