Cherry Jam receipe?

I'm going to make the cherry vodka.............:o

zombiecazz
sugar syrup is just sugar dissolved in water, don't boil incase you end up with toffee . Syrup mixes easier with the vodka. Keep the bottles/jars in a dark cupboard and shake once a day. I would also deseed the cherries before covering with the vodka. Fill Jar with cherries pour insome syrup and then cover with vodka. Leave for at least 3 weeks before testing. the longer you leave it the stronger the cherry flavour.

.............but with having so many cherries I would like a receipe for Cherry Jam please?

I'm going to have the cherry puree with my yoghurt too.:)

Pity about having to take all the stones out.

    Cherry Jam
    1lb Cherries stoned *
    12 oz sugar
juice half lemon or half level teaspoon citric or tartaric acid

    * If using red morello cherries use only half the quantity of acid.

Tie the stones in muslin, and add to the fruit in the pan
Simmer until the skin of the fruit is soft
Stir in the sugar, and add lemon juice or acid
Continue stirring until sugar is dissolved
Boil rapidly until setting point is reached.

I just made some cherry Vodka ka ka too :D

Stoning them is so boring - anyone got a nice easy way? I can't see mto do it properly without cutting them in half

I've eaten lots and lots too :o It would have been healthy if I hadn't had a bowl of Lidl cherry ice cream too

OMG - I've got sooooo many cherries on the tree this year - we've just filled a big mixing bowl full to the brim and have probably only picked about 1/4 of them :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
